Venkat P Ramani is a 41 year old architect/ project manager working with Kulkarni Quality Systems in Dubai. He was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL), a type of blood cancer on December 19, 2008. He has a small family: his wife Alpa, also an architect, and a lovely eight-year old daughter, Tanaya. Ramani graduated from the Visveswaraya Regional College of Engineering, Nagpur in 1992. He has a brother, a journalist with The Indian Express in Delhi and a sister, who is a home-maker again in Delhi. His parents are right now travelling. |

He was diagnosed with ALL in Hyderabad. Ramani had come to Hyderabad with his family for just three days to attend a marriage. |

| He went for an Executive Health Check-Up in Hyderabad where he was unexpectedly diagnosed with cancer. He was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai where he is going through the conventional chemotherapy cycles. |
|
|
| The only lasting cure for ALL is a blood stem cell transplant. Unfortunately, his HLA (Human Leukocyte Antigen) has not matched with either of his siblings and we are on a global hunt for an unrelated but matched donor. World over, there is a lot of awareness about voluntary bone marrow donor programmes. |
